Lei Wang was born in China, in 1973.
He received his B.Eng (Information and Control Engineering) in July 1995 and PhD (Biomedical Engineering) in April 2000, from Xi&Mac226;an Jiaotong University (China). Both degree studies were enrolments without mandatory admission examinations and graduates with distinctions. During 2000 he held a Henry Lester post-doctoral research scholarship at the University of Dundee.
He joined the MST research group, the University of Glasgow, in February 2001. Since then he primarily worked on an Integrated Diagnostics for Environmental and Analytical System project (SHEFC RDG-00130) and a Laboratory-In-A-Pill Feasibility Research project (cooperated with Honeywell, 2003), currently he is working on a U.K. EPSRC project - Scalable Mosaic Array for Ultrasonic Imaging.
He has been an electronics / microelectronics research engineer since 1996 and is highly experienced in Integrated Circuits and Systems Design, Digital Signal Processing and Medical Instrumentation. He authored / coauthored more than 20 scientific publications and was entitled a presenter award in an IEEE conference in May 2002. He has supervised several M.Sc projects and undergraduate projects. Dr Lei Wang is a member of IEEE.
