Biography
I received the B. Eng. (Hons) degree from the Department of Electronics and Electrical Engineering, University of Glasgow in 1997. I then undertook a PhD research project, also within the E & EE department, "Design and Construction of a Distributed Crossbar Switch Hypermesh Parallel Computer", submitting my thesis in August 2003. From July 2001 to the present I have been working on the development of a system-on-a-chip electronic nose.
My research interests include hardware design for novel parallel computer networks, electronic olfaction, and the design of high-speed digital circuitry, FPGAs and mixed-signal ASICs.
My recreational interests include amateur radio, electronics, current affairs and Tai Chi.
