If you don't have a VRML viewer for your web browser you'll need to go and
get one, the one I use is from Silicon
Graphics : Cosmo Player. (http://cosmosoftware.com)
If you like what you find here but would like me to make a particular crystal let
me know. As I continue to study different crystals I'll update this page and
others, check out the gallery page for other
VRML examples. Here are the crystals so far, most come in chunks so that you
get the feel for a bulk piece of crystal : |
Simple 2D Structures
Woodpile / Log Pile / Scaffold Structures
OPAL Photonic Crystals
Hexagonal Lattice Systems
When you click on the links below if the
files list to the screen and don't start your
VRML viewer automatically then you'll need to do
the following:
Save the .wrl files on your own computer,
(either use the Save Link As from your right
mouse button for PC users or shift click the
link). Once you have saved the file(s), use File
and Open from your web browser to open up the
.wrl file that you have saved onto your hard
disk.
